Getting dodge parts and repairs from a qualified auto service

When you visit an auto service shop in search of maintenance or dodge parts or a steering stabilizer, you should make informed decisions. If you are, for example, buying new tires, you should ask the mechanic about the difference between the tire quality and the guarantees. There are different markings on different tires which have different meanings. A staff member should be able to explain what these marks mean and what the warranties mean. For example, if you have a sign on a display that reads “50,000 Mile Warranty” you might thing that the warranty covers 50,000 miles put on the tire. But this is not exactly true. In some cases, this warranty might just mean that any manufacturer’s defects are covered for up to 50,000 miles.

When you get repairs done, you should find certified  auto service only with highly trained staff. The Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) group provides certification for auto mechanics. Mechanics have to endure training and testing every five years to obtain and maintain this certification. Another certification they might have is from AAA. With AAA certification you can rest assured that the auto shop cares about quality service and customer satisfaction. There are a handful of good mechanics that do not have this certification or even AAA certification but it is not worth the risk. You should look around the shop and see if it is clean, literally. Most highly certified facilities will ensure that their shop is clean and tidy. They will ensure their equipment and their work areas are cleaned each day.

If your check engine light comes on, it might cause you a bit of concern regularly. But don’t go straight to the  auto service when this happens and have them reset it. Just use your cars On Board Diagnostics system to find the codes related to the check engine light. A good mechanic will be willing to read these codes and figure out the source of the problem, but if you have a code reader you can do it yourself before you bring your car in for a checkup. And when you do have to bring it in, don’t rely on internet coupons or local ads. Follow personal recommendations from friends or family. Good  auto service will provide great customer service, and your friends and family will be happy to share stories about the customer service they received from good shops. If the mechanic tells you that your car might have potential problems, do not panic. They might have found some metal shavings in your transmission fluid, but that does not mean the end of your car’s life.
